About the Authors

Authors - James Townsend and Benjamin Samples

Benjamin Samples and James Townsend, Charleston West Virginia natives, face contemporary Christian issues head-on. They explore the Church's post-modern challenges with piercing wit and gritty realism. The two aren't afraid to tackle serious problems, and they do so with the honesty and sincerity of folks who aren't afraid to laugh at themselves in the process.

Their message focuses primarily on younger generations, from middle school to college age—those individuals who are on the cusp of a unique and devolving transition in Christian culture, interpersonal philosophy, and American society. Nevertheless, their message is relevant for those of all ages who seek a genuine and fuller relationship with Christ.

In an effort to reach a larger audience, many churches have often sacrificed the harder truths of the Gospel for broader appeals to things like social justice and the universal support and sustainment of mankind's sinful nature. While not ignoring the importance of acceptance, unity, and harmony, Samples and Townsend echo the words of Martin Luther, "Peace if possible, but truth at any cost."
